Comedy Central’s ‘Awkwafina’ Now Filling Speaking Roles

Crazy Rich AsiansAwkwafina will be headlining a scripted narrative, which will be out soon on Comedy Central. And now, casting directors of the show are seeking talents to take on some speaking roles. Front-run by Awkwafina (also in Oceans 8), Awkwafina is a half-hour scripted narrative that revolves around a twenty-something living in Queens. She lives with her father and grandmother as simply as she could but with one goal in mind: to have a larger-than-life existence. Starring alongside Awkwafina are Bowen Yang, BD Wong, and Lori Tan Chinn. Awkwafina, Karey Dornetto, and Teresa Hsiao are set to pen the script, and Lucia Aniello has been announced as the director. To complete some scenes, casting directors of Awkwafina are seeking females actresses to play grandmothers. Applicant must be 60 to 90 years old to be considered.
