At the center of this feud is Desmond Miles, whose lineage can be traced back to the original Assassins. The game is widely recognized for its exploration of several different eras. It is reported that the movie’s main plot will revolve around the Spanish Inquisition storyline of the game.

Fassbender will be joined by The Wolf of Wall Street star Marion Cotillard in the movie, which is scheduled for theatrical release on December of 2016.
