Having the privilege of being recognized as one of Hollywood’s hottest actors gives the actor an extra boost in their acting career and an extra shot of fame. 1. Henry Cavill
A lot of people were skeptical when Henry Cavill, the “dashing Duke” from The Tudors, was cast as Clark Kent on last year’s blockbuster hit Man of Steel. But the moment our eyes fell on Cavill wearing that suit and cape, it was hard to picture Superman being played by someone else. We are convinced that every woman (or man) drooled over his beautifully sculpted body, especially without the shirt. Glamour UK seems to agree when they chose him as the Sexiest Man of 2013.
2. Tom Hiddleston
From a superhero, we move on to the hottest supervillain in all of movie land, Loki. Tom Hiddleston may be the devil incarnate when he dons his Loki gear, but the real Tom Hiddleston is a definite softie and a cutie too. His natural charm has melted the hearts of many of his fans, which is why they are able to set him apart from his notorious role. Whether playing the good guy or not, Tom’s adorable nature makes him too irresistible and definitely too hot to handle.
3. Benedict Cumberbatch
Like Tom, Benedict has received the “hot” status in a geeky, dorky, clean cut kind of way. He may be an unlikely choice as he is definitely far from the Hollywood sex symbol, but this red head’s style and candor definitely helped him bag the third spot. His geeky accomplishments as the antagonist Khan on Star Trek Into Darkness and Sherlock Holmes on BBC One’s Sherlock helped him break into the International movie scene.
4. Ryan Gosling
Cutting the Brits’ streak on our top 10 is People Magazine’s America’s Most Wanted Man. The title “Sexiest Man Alive” may have been very evasive for the past years, but Ryan can easily top a woman’s list of the hottest men alive without even batting an eyelash. In fact, he has been on that list since he played the young Noah Calhoun on The Notebook. He may be chasing darker roles these days, but he will always be the man who haunts of every girl’s fantasies.
5. Channing Tatum
His self-produced movie Magic Mike helped Channing become 2012’s Sexiest Man Alive and if that movie was not hot, we really do not know what else is. This model-turned-actor has been the epitome of a buff body for years, but that does not mean he cannot act. The talented Channing can dance (remember Step Up?), is great at comedy (he has hosted Saturday Night Live), and has mastered diaper changing, too (he is a new dad).
6. Bradley Cooper
Bradley preceded Channing as People Magazine’s Sexiest Man Alive and back then he only had The Hangover, The A-Team and a few rom-coms under his belt. Now, Bradley has more to offer as he bagged two Academy Award nominations; one for Silver Linings Playbook and another for American Hustle. These acting accomplishments make him even hotter and ultimately bankable for future movie deals.
7. Robert Downey, Jr.
Ironman helped Robert Downey, Jr. penetrate mainstream with a big impact. His charisma made him perfect for Tony Stark and his smarts brought him to the role of the equally successful Sherlock Holmes. RDJ is currently Hollywood’s highest paid actor after the success of the Ironman franchise and The Avengers. We are definitely banking on him to be the driving force of future Marvel movies as he has proven many times to break box office records.
8. Michael Fassbender
There is something in Irish actors that make them irresistible; something that makes Michael Fassbender irresistible. And do not even get us started with how hot he looked in 300 or how handsome and clean-cut he was in X-Men: First Class. He may be more adept to darker roles and villains, but he plays them so well the characters become a lot more appealing (and worth watching) to the audience.
9. Hugh Jackman
If we put acting, dancing, singing and stunts together in one actor, we will probably end up with just one – Hugh Jackman. This versatile actor may have played different roles on stage and in movies, but he will always be our favorite mutant, Wolverine. Watching him on X-Men movies elicit more oohh’s and aahh’s than a perfectly made cheesecake. Speaking of cheese, prior to being cast as Wolverine, Hugh dabbled in a few romantic comedies which officially make him a total hot babe.
10. Idris Elba
Rounding out our list is yet another English actor, this time with a brush of the roughness. Idris Elba is the only actor aside from Tom Hiddleston who can steal a scene from Chris Hemsworth. He exudes a masculinity that could make any God of Thunder feel like the God of Rain (sorry, Chris Hemsworth). This kind of screen presence and authority made him very suitable for the role of Nelson Mandela on Mandela: Long Walk to Freedom.
Judging by the accomplishments of these actors, it takes more than a buff body and a handsome face to be part of the elite list. An actor needs to be well-versed in his craft, if not outstanding, and offer much more to the audience. Along with that they need good lucks, charm, and great physique. Each of the actors on this list has every bit of those rolled into one, which reason enough to make them more than eligible to become Hollywood’s hottest actors.
