Although stunt men and women and body doubles are there to ensure that our favorite Hollywood actors and actresses would not get in the line of fire, this is not an assurance that they are out of danger completely. Even Hollywood actors and actresses themselves, no matter how simple the scene may be still had their fair share of near death experiences during filming. This Australian actress nearly drowned while filming a scene that involved her inside a large fish tank. Part of the scene required her to be handcuffed inside the tank. The mishap? The handcuffs snagged at the bottom of the tank nearly drowning her. Fellow cat and crew were literally convinced of her “acting.”Good thing the crew acted in time to save her. Fisher was professional and eventually filmed the whole scene like a good sport.

Action star Jason Statham also had a few close calls when he was filming the high octane action film the Expendable 3. There was a scene where Jason was driving a truck towards the Red Sea. The truck was supposed to stop but ended up zooming straight for the water. Jason was still inside when the truck crash landed in the water.

Playing Tonto in the action pack movie The Lone Ranger proved to be a very close encounter with death for actor Johnny Depp. During his stunt, Depp fell of his might steed and ended up being clipped at the chest by his horse’s rear hooves.

Levitt’s rather near death experience came while filming Premium Rush. He recounts how a certain diplomat had lunged at him in a live set and he barreled straight through a rear window of a cab. Aside from the fact that he needed broke his arm and required 31 stitches for his wound, all is well.

George Clooney’s torture scene in the 2005 film Syriana proved to be too much when it resulted in him having his spine severely injured. This resulted in a cut down his back and a tear on his neck.

Talk about too much action. Di Caprio accidentally slammed his hand against a glass table suffering some serious cuts on his hand. The ever so professional actor filmed the scene with finesse before seeking medical help.

This is another on screen hanging that went horribly wrong. Initially, the hanging scene was supposed to be done with a box to help Fox out. But since it did not look so convincing, the actor ever so kindly offered to do it without the box. Fox had to put his hand between the noose and his neck but during the 7th take, Fox eventually forgot. The actor passed out for a full 30 seconds before anyone noticed.

This famous man is bonkers when it comes to stunt work. Although he had his fair share of injuries on set his stunt work in the movie Police Story nearly nailed his coffin. The actor was eventually electrocuted while sliding down a metal pole. He sustained 3rd degree burns on his hands and his face and took several weeks of recovery.
