Steven Spielberg’s ‘West Side Story’ Now Filling Featured Roles

The classic musical West Side Story will soon grace the big screen, and casting directors of the show are seeking talents to work on some scenes. To be helmed by Oscar-winning director Steven Spielberg, West Side Story follows the events presented in its Broadway musical predecessor. The film puts teenagers Tony and Maria at the center, who, despite having come from rival street gangs, fall in love with each other. It will star  and Rachel Zegler and Baby Driver‘s Ansel Elgort as Maria and Tony. Starring alongside Zegler and Elgort are David Alvarez, Ariana DeBose, and Rita Moreno. Now, to complete some scenes, casting directors of West Side Story are looking for an African American or Hispanic male who is 18 to 60 years old to play a boxer. Another ten actors are also sought to play tough-looking men. Applicant must be a Caucasian 18- to 29-year-old to be considered.
