Lin-Manuel Miranda’s ‘In the Heights’ Now Casting Extras

Lin-Manuel Miranda’s award-winning Broadway musical In the Heights is coming to the big screen. And casting directors of the film are looking for actors and actresses to fill a few background roles. Set in the largely Hispanic-American neighborhood of Washington Heights, New York, In the Heights follows a bodega owner who decides to close his store and move to the Dominican Republic, after receiving an inheritance from his grandmother. The musical stars Anthony Ramos (A Star Is Born, Hamilton) and Corey Hawkins (Six Degrees of Separation, Straight Outta Compton). As production continues, casting directors of the film are seeking talent to take on background roles. One male or female talent is needed to play neighbor. Nine- to seventeen-year-old actors and actresses are also encouraged to apply. Another ten talents are sought to play jump ropers as well.
