Hugh Jackman’s Audition Tape for X-Men’s Wolverine

The Australian actor, Hugh Jackman has played as a fierce clawed mutant, Logan, in seven films already, starting from the first “X-Men” in the year 2000, up to the most recent box office hit “X-Men: Days of Future Past.” Even during his very first audition, it is really difficult to separate him from the role of The Wolverine.

Obviously, the role brought Jackman a successful career. But, in reality, he was not the first or second choice to play as Logan. Even though he did great during his audition, he was not supposed to play the Wolverine in the original X-Men movie. It was supposed to be Gladiator star, Russel Crowe, but the actor turned down the role over his salary demands.

Dougray Scott was then considered to play as the Wolverine. Originally, he got the part, and was ready for the big screen and even signed on for the sequel. However, a series of unfortunate events caused him to lose the role. So, Director Bryan Singer and 20th Century Fox decided to recast the Wolverine.

Technically, Scott’s loss was Jackman’s gain. Jackman will certainly reprise the Logan role for “X-Men: Apocalypse” and the untitled “Wolverine 3.”
