Hollywood giants 20th Century Fox and Blue Sky Studios have officially teamed up for the big screen debut of one of the comic book world’s legendary stars namely Peanuts and the gang.
The studios that brought you Ice Age and Dr. Seuss’ Horton Hears a Who has released the upcoming movie’s first official teaser trailer and high res stills from the upcoming movie. Steve Martino, director of Ice Age: Continental Drift and producer Paul Feig says that the movie will focus more on the 50 years worth of comic strip and TV special created by Charles M. Schultz himself.
The first ever teaser that was released of the upcoming Peanuts movie was released in March this year. Aside from the teaser trailer, new images were released which featured the beloved beagle and the gang in a movie theater, on top of a newly decorated dog house, as the red baron and Snoopy in tow with his owner Charlie Brown.
Craig Schultz, creator Charles Schultz’ son said in an interview that the movie has long been over due and they have been waiting for the right time to release a movie.
“I’m way more protective than my father would have been. Our No. 1 goal was always to be authentic to his work and legacy.”
Craig said in an interview. Fans can expect three major things in the plotline of the story such as the infamous lifelong crush of Charlie Brown “Little Red-Haired Girl” will finally make an appearance, Snoopy has “soft white fur” and that the plot will take audience into the fantasy world of Snoopy.
Peanuts is the comic strip written by Charles M. Schultz in the 1950s and ran from 1950 to 2000. It featured the story of Snoopy the beagle and his owner Charlie Brown and their adventures.
The movie is slated for release in November of next year.
