Dory, a blue tang fish, was first introduced in Finding Nemo. She accompanies clown fish Marlin in his quest to find his son Nemo, who was whisked away by a diver. Unlike its 2003 predecessor, the setting of the new movie might bring our heroes to another location.

The story is set six months after the events of Finding Nemo. Dory, who is living with Nemo, lives a normal and quite life about her forgetfulness. A class trip with Nemo prompts Dory to wonder about her origin. Further details indicate that Dory might have been born in a marine aquarium before being released into the ocean.
