The upcoming film Bel Canto is now casting Hispanic men to play South American guerrillas. Filming is set to take place on February 13 to March 8. This will be for an interior scene shot in Yonker, New York.
Bel Canto is based on the novel by American author Ann Planchett. It is a retelling of the actual hostage crisis that took place in Lima, Peru, during the mid-90s. Julianne Moore plays Roxanne Cross, an American soprano who is hired to sing in a private concert at the birthday party of Japanese industrialist Katsumi Hosokawa (Ken Watanabe).
The party is later overthrown by guerrillas who hold the partygoers hostage while demanding the government to release their imprisoned comrades. The movie later explores the relationship between the terrorists and their hostages over a span of several months.
Casting directors are looking for actors to play South American guerrillas for the upcoming film. Must be male, Middle Eastern, and are 18–35 years old.
