Alison Sweeney Announces She’s Leaving “Days of Our Lives”

reports that the well-known and long-running soap opera star Alison Sweeney made a surprising announcement on the “Ellen DeGeneres Show” on Tuesday. Sweeney will be exiting her TV job on “Days of Our Lives” at the end of this season. Sweeney has played the character of Sami Brady on “Days of Our Lives” since her initial television auditions for the show at the tender age of 16. Now, after 21 years on the series, she is ready to move on. When asked about the timing of her departure, Sweeney replied that she wants to spend more time with her husband and two children. For seven years, she has balanced two
TV jobs
on “Days of Our Lives,” and as host of “The Biggest Loser.” It is with a heavy heart that Alison has made the decision to leave the show. She expressed great love and affection for her costars, the crew of the show, and most notably her fans. She is not sure about the fate of her character Sami, but hopes it will not be too unhappy or bizarre. The soap opera fan base has seen Alison Sweeney grow up on “Days of Our lives,” and she will undoubtedly be missed.
