Fans of Adam Levine and Maroon 5 better be ready to spend some big bucks for their upcoming concert this year.
In an article from Pop Dust, Adam Levine joins the biggest names in the music industry like Taylor Swift, having the most expensive tickets on the market in 2015.
“Pop juggernauts Maroon 5 and Taylor Swift will see the second and third most expensive tour averages in 2015, respectively. At $279.42, Maroon 5 tickets on the band’s V Tour are 6.3% more expensive than Taylor Swift tickets on the 1989 Tour, which average at $262.85.”
Aside from Maroon 5, other priciest artists include the controversial Australian rapper, Iggy Azalea and singer Ariana Grande. Both artists made it big last year with their chart-topping tracks.
Levine’s US tour with his band, Maroon 5, will officially kick off in February. Animals is so far their most controversial song, with lots of women groups objecting the music video. Here, Levine plays as a stalker who is preying on his wife’s character. The video sparked debates as it shows the horrific realities of stalking, which could possibly lead to rape.
Despite everything, the band landed some unlikely support as well. According to Inquistr, the People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals or PETA, defended them as they believed it portrayed the dreadfulness of the meat packing realms. Towards the end of the video, the couple is seen covered in a bloody mess.
Other pop artists that will have big tour averages in 2015 are One Direction, 5 Seconds of Summer and Meghan Trainor. 5SOS, Grande and Trainor will be doing their first-ever tours, where the ticket demands are soaring high after they made it big on the charts.
The most expensive tour on the secondary market of 2014 was Fleetwood Mac’s On With the Show Tour, with an average ticket price of $307.38.
