When he was still a kid, 36-year old Aaron Fuller already wanted to become an actor. Born from a Cuban immigrant mother who moved from Cuba to Florida in the late 1960s and a Scot-American father from northern California, he was already very active in theater since he started school. He was cast in several theater productions, including Shakespeare’s Midsummer Nights’ Dream, where he played the role of Puck.
Despite of his parents’ breakup and the problems he encountered along the way because of it, there was one thing constant in Aaron’s life when he was growing up and that was acting. When he was in junior high, he wanted to further his education in dramatic arts and was even brought by his mom to a Pepsi commercial when he was 15.
The Hindrances to a Dream
Although there was interest over him at the audition, nothing ever transpired for Aaron during that time because it was then that the rest of his family stepped in and discouraged him from continuing his love for acting. Considering the dysfunctional state of his family, Aaron’s life went downhill from that moment on.
“I had gotten in with the wrong crowd and made a lot of very ignorant, selfish decisions that hurt not only me but the people I cared for and loved. My life was one let down after another, or me messing up in one way or another, I felt like I didn’t have a purpose in life, and the only person I could blame was myself,” Aaron recalled about that moment in his life.
Luckily, it was when he was at his worst when he met the wonderful woman who is now his wife. He said she was the one who taught him about becoming a responsible man and husband. Thirty one years his senior, Aaron’s wife is also his biggest supporter and backs him up with no questions asked. So, when he broached the subject of trying to make a career out of acting again, she was full of encouragement and even told him things that made him want to go back on the journey more than ever.
The Struggle that Re-Awakened Aspirations
Aaron married his wife in 2010, after having been friends since 2006. During the same year of their marriage, she was diagnosed with a terminal disease and was given a time frame that scared him to death.
“By the grace of God, we found a treatment with a new test study drug and out of the 150 people, she was the only who was completely cured,” he revealed.
“Our prayers were answered and so, I realized I needed to take a step back and re-evaluate my life because I refuse to take life or my wife, friends and loved ones for granted. This also included my dream and my goal of acting, which I’ve always had, but never thought, had the chance to actually accomplish,” Aaron stated.
After everything that has happened, the aspiring actor disclosed that he is so happy and excited to see where everything will take him. He said he is aware that he needs to do a lot of research and study about the art of acting and drama as well as about the industry. It was during this time when he was introduced to Explore Talent.
“They have been awesome in giving me the tools for success and exposure. But not just that, their service is amazing in every way. I’ve also learned so much and am now starting to go to auditions and every time I audition, I get better. Plus, I’m currently in an acting class which is helping to sharpen my skills,” Aaron said.
The Start of Realizing Childhood Dreams
The aspiring actor added that he is now waiting to audition for around 50 different casting calls for feature films, short films, theatre and other events. He stressed though that his dream is to be cast in a pilot TV show and feature films, so he can begin to build up exposure and eventually either move to Los Angeles or New York.
“I’m hungry for experience, but also to learn as much as I can about everything in entertainment and acting,” he pointed out.
Aaron said that when he first began to take acting seriously again and determined that he was going to become an actor no matter, he lost a few of his friends’ support except that of his wife and of his “non-official adoptive mother”, who took him in as her own. Also a good friend of his wife, he said that both women are now behind him not just 100 percent, but a 150 percent.
“So, with them and Explore Talent guiding and helping move forward and gain experience and knowledge, things are going fantastic. I just auditioned for four films in the last two weeks, and everyone were just awesome, so I look forward to where this is going,” Aaron enthused.
After all the struggles he has been through, things are finally looking up for Aaron Fuller. He is definitely on his path to realizing his childhood dream of becoming an actor and earning a name in the spotlight.
