Celebrities are always known to have more than just one home. However, a lot of them are not just after getting a place where they can stay with their family and friends. They have to get sprawling estates that do not only have all the amenities anyone could ask for, but also cost them an arm and a leg – or probably their entire body.
Below are just a handful of the most expensive homes that belong to celebrities:
The 60-million dollar Château Miraval, located in the South of France, was bought by the newly-married Celebrity couple Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie in 2007.
The chateau which is nestled in a vineyard estate was said to have built during the 17th century. It has 35 rooms and comes with resplendent gardens, fountains, a moat and its own chapel. The couple secretly married in the chapel with their children in attendance on August 30.
On the vast grounds of the estate lies an olive grove nestled among phrygana and woodlands of white oak, evergreen as well as Maritime and Aleppo pine trees.
With the replica of a major golf course right in his own backyard, Tiger Wood’s mansion on Jupiter Island in Florida is everything a golfer could ever dream of.
Set on three and a half acres of flat land, Wood’s mansion has been designed with his family in mind. The main house itself does not only have a wine cellar, but also a games area for his children, Celebrity Charlie and Sam, and a cinema.
There are four other buildings besides the main house and these include a stand-alone garage, a golf training studio, a big guesthouse and a boathouse. Outside, you will see a lap lane, a diving pool, a tennis court, a small golf course and a 100-foot running track. There are also two docks for Privacy, the champion golfer’s 155-foot yacht.
As Wood’s home was designed by his design team for his privacy and protection and that of his family, it can be understood why the entire estate is surrounded by tall trees that offer a minimal view of the buildings within.
Aptly named “The Promised Land” in honor of Martin Luther King, Oprah Winfrey’s 55-million dollar mansion is probably what you could call the celebrity’s gift for herself after her painful and long journey to get where she is now. Sitting on 42 acres of land, Oprah’s home is complete with the beautiful mountain and ocean views of Montecito, California.
Enveloped in a forest of trees, Oprah’s home is more an enchanted kingdom than anything else. It has six bedrooms, a gourmet kitchen, a wine cellar, ten fireplaces, fourteen bathrooms, an outside and an inside theater, a barn and a guesthouse with its own pool. The estate also has a tennis court, orchards, ponds and a man-made lake with lots of fish.
If these features were not awesome enough, The Promised Land is also adorned with a huge number of rosebushes. Oprah has a personal “rosarian”, who has cultivated seven different types of roses.
One of these types of roses is named, “The Legends”, after the influential African-American women, who were honored during the Oprah Winfrey’s Legends Ball.

The 52-million dollar residence of radio and TV celebrity Howard Stern, which is located on the northern end of Palm Beach, sits right by the water and comes with a main house and a smaller structure that totals to 39,094 square feet of living space.
Bought for Stern’s wife, Beth Ostrosky, the house is said to be quite rich in history as it was frequented by the none other than one of America’s most famous families, the Kennedys. Although it has been shielded from the outside world by a steel main gate that comes complete with cameras, the estate has beautiful formal gardens for its landscape.
Named Playboy Mansion for the man who founded Playboy himself, Celebrity Hugh Hefner’s 50-million dollar home in Los Angeles contains 22 rooms as well as a game room, a wine cellar, an aviary and a zoo. It also has tennis courts, a swimming pool area complete with a barbeque station, a patio, a bathhouse and a sauna and its own waterfall.
The game room (which is actually a game house because it is inside a separate building on Hefner’s property) is one of the many areas of the mansion that has been featured on television, print and online media a number of times along with a bevy of Playboy bunnies.
The main entrance of the home itself is enough to draw in some admiration with its fountains and two sidewalks that go past a wishing well.
Here is a clip of the Playboy Mansion when it was featured on MTV Cribs:
